Tables of noughts and crosses game, ludo, and goose, as well as table tennis, will shape this new recreational facility

Ondara City Council within the Municipal Plan of Creating Public Parks Ondara 2009-2011, will equip a new park to the Plaza Mayor, which will have items for practice games like Parcheesi, goose and three in line and ping pong. This was announced this morning the Mayor of Ondara, Ximo Ferrando, who along with Councilmember Culture, Rosa Ana Martí, visited the site of the Plaza Mayor where will this new infrastructure, for the use and enjoyment of Ondara neighbors.

This is a new park "will be different than those currently existing in the municipality", as advanced Ferrando, and offering the possibility of playing traditional board games, through the installation of three outdoor tables in the game that can play ludo, snakes and ladders and noughts and crosses. At the same time, this new park will play a sport increasingly embedded in the municipality, such as ping-pong (in fact, is Ondara of the few towns in the region that has a Municipal Sports School Ping Pong) . This will be mounted two ping-pong tables specially designed for outdoor play. The work of building this infrastructure will begin after Easter.

To locate this new park has been chosen precisely the Plaza Mayor, next to the Arts Center because it is a central urban location. It seeks to revitalize the square and get people who come to the House of Culture, the Library or visit the exhibitions, they can also enjoy a play area in which to practice other activities such as traditional board games and ping Tennis. This square, as indicated by the Mayor, responding perfectly to this type of demand, rather than installing it as a children's area, as there are already dedicated to other nearby locations playgrounds, such as Park Street Carlos Arniches , or other new parks that will be installed shortly in Ondara.

It is recalled that, since in November 2009 was announced the launch of up to 10 new parks within the Municipal Plan for the Creation of Public Parks Ondara, (to build up to 2011), Ondara City Council has already launched three new municipal park, two of them, playgrounds, streets and Oscar Carlos Arniches Esplà and healthy park for seniors, located in the street Alfatares. All three are widely accepted by the public, both for its location and its characteristics.

Now in this new phase of the Plan will be built in the Plaza Mayor this park dedicated to traditional board games and ping-pong practice.

As the Mayor stated, "This is a great bet to create a DB and facilities needed in high demand from the population." Ximo Ferrando recalled that "we have been in recent years creating necessary infrastructure and now we are going one step further and investing in much needed and highly demanded by parents, elders and children, such as public spaces.

The remaining six other new parks will be built until 2011, in the street Menendez Pidal, Verge dels Dolors, Verger, Enric Valor, Xabi and García Lorca (in the parish of Pamisos). Park Street Menendez Pidal, is a park with playgrounds that are created through the Hall of Music, in the Barrio del Cristo. The street Verge dels Dolors, replace the current existing park next to the laundry. This is deleted and instead, will build a new park in the highest zone, which will have a greater surface. Verger in the street will be built a large playground and green area, in a wide area within the Trust Plan de la Generalitat Valenciana, in a particularly demanded by the residents. In the game Tossals will create another park in the street Enric Valor. And Xàbia street at the entrance of the road from Denia, is located a new playground and healthy. In addition, the City of Ondara also plans to build a park in the Parish of Pamisos on Calle Lorca, who will become the first Pamisos playground, although this is pending a meeting by the Mayor with the neighbors, to agree on its location and facilities.
