UNANIMOUSLY APPROVES FULL REPLACE THE BRIDGE ON FORMER N-332

The Mayor said that this work will prevent the flooding of the gorge on its way through the population

The full City Council has approved Ondara, with the vote for all political groups (PP, PSOE and BNV), replacing the current bridge located between the street and the Plaça Sant Domenech del País Valencià, (known as "Pont Solano ").

The project, whose budget amounts to 194,318.83 euros, includes the demolition of the infrastructure and the construction of a new bridge whose hydraulic capacity will be a 40.94% higher, because the eye is removed the bridge, which currently reduce the capacity happen when the river water pool as it passes through the town.

Thus, according to Mayor assured Ondara, Ximo Ferrando, "this work will increase the capacity of harnessing the river pool as it passes through the village, avoiding the rising of the gorge on its way through the population and improving safety in the case of heavy flood water. The idea, he has advanced the Mayor, is to be used for actions to be developed in this same area covered by the project ecobulevar on the old N-332, for carrying out both construction of new bridge. It is noted that the ecobulevar passes just above this bridge.

It Ondara City Council has approved applying for a grant of 100% of the cost of bridge replacement project to the Generalitat Valenciana and the Ministry of Environment.

Mayor Ondara, Ximo Ferrando, and has requested a meeting with officials of the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar, in order to develop this project. It should be remembered that this is not the only action regarding the bridges over the river pool as it passes through the urban area being conducted by the City Council Ondara. In fact, is still pending approval, by the CHJ, the City Council proposal to extend the bridge with a footbridge Prado, in order to eliminate architectural barriers and improve pedestrian safety. The project will double the width of the bridge, through the placement of a footbridge that will not change the hydraulic capacity of river channelization.
